7000 SeriesDouble Walled Kettle

Easy to use. Well insulated...keeps water hot long after with power off. Unfortunately not in the colour of my wife's choice ;-(

Because this kettle is built with double-wall so when water is boiled our hands would not get burnt easily. I’d like to recommend it to my friends.

I bought this particular kettle as we want a variable temperature kettle and there are no plastic parts in contact with the boiling water. Ticks both these boxes but falls a little short on functionality. The lid only opens about 5cm when the lid release button is pushed, Im not sure if it is faulty or if its suppose to open only this much. To fill it with water you need to manually pull open the lid and if the kettle has just boiled and been emptied the lid can be very hot. Another annoying thing is the temperature choice buttons on the handle as you need to press minimum 3 times to get it to function and multiple times to change the temperature, also regularity we accidently engage the keep warm funtion in error and dont realise until we hear it reboiling in the kitchen. Have to note it was very cheap for a full double walled variable temperature kettle. Overall an affordable variable double walled kettle.

It’s hard to where the max watermark so that you don’t overfill water for boiling since it is marked internally. Worst if you are left handed and holding the kettle on your left and under a running tap.

I bought mine about 3 months ago. I wonder why the bottom (part B as per my photo) always built up with "slime like" stain after each boil where u can remove it by some soft sponge brush. Secondly the Part A as per mine picture seems to be very rough as compared to the upper part where is smooth. Does it came this way originally or only after use, im not sure as i didnt verify it before i use it unless i go check those at the department store to verify. But I really dont think the surface should be this rough. The slime at the bottom may be due to the water content. Can Philip or anyone here kindly share your experience if u have one. Thks

The product is not really good, when do boiling need to press 3 times than the boiling water completed in 100% and always stop at 40% so will u think that the product is good. The kettle very easy get rusty

Not that user friendly on selecting the keep temp option, and not a clean pour from the spout.

The pouring with lid close is very poor design. The hot water leaks from the side. Nearly got burn from the water. Have to be very careful. Don’t pour close to your self or close to kids. It due to the lid is not tight fit when close.

The lip of the kettle doesn't seal shut - there's a slight gap all the way round - which means when it's boiling steam is escaping all the way round (see the photo with condensation all around the edge of the lid) and also means it boils longer as it delays the kettle automatically shutting off. I'm not sure if this is a design flaw or a fault with the one I bought last week. If I put a weight on the lid (like a tin of food) then this seals it shut. I bought the kettle because I like that the interior is completely stainless steel, and there is no plastic inside. I didn't buy the 7000 because there is plastic and the reviews on here seem to show lots of faults. Unfortunately it looks like the 5000 also has faults.

Apparently this is not an uncommon issue, 2 other feedbacks below The kettle stops boiling at 40 degree at the first round, need to press boil again 2-3 times to complete a boiling. Complete waste of time How do we solve this issue Philips??
