Philips Slim profile TV makes a statement with its sleek, sophisticated dimensions. After all, why shouldn’t your TV be as beautiful as it is functional?
Good design tells a story. Take for example the precision crafted front bezel made from brushed aluminum with a polished metal edge that is so slim and discreet it creates a razor sharp line outlining your screen, and optimizing your viewing experience.
When setting out to create a new TV, our teams consider every aspect: from technology to design. Our new edge feet were engineered to create space beneath your TV where a traditional stand would normally sit, offering you a more immersive viewing experience. The effect? A TV that stands confidently with a nod to the future.

This is a great product.
Great product, very happy all round. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars in "ease of use" was because every now and again, the remote control ceases to work. After I manually turn the tv off and then back on, the remote works again. A composite A/V input would be good too for plugging in some old-school components.
Yes, I recommend this product

Nice product but slooooooow
I bought my first flat TV 8 years ago and it was a 37" Philips. Fantastic TV, first gen of Ambi light, friends and family were amazed by it. Still in great shape, now in kids room. I was very happy to hear that Philips came back to Aus market as I was due for an upgrade and didn't want to loose Ambi light by going with other brands. Decided to go with top of the range in 6000 series based on my previous positive experience with Philips TV and a few reviews I could find in the internet. I now regret the purchase. From design perspective, there’s nothing wrong with the TV, sound is good, picture is great, hardware itself is fantastic, modern and very sleek. However the biggest let down is the software and the responsiveness (lack of). You have to hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn the TV on. Then you have to wait between 5-10 seconds if you want to switch the channel or lower the volume, which is very annoying and inconvenient if you have a toddler sleeping in the next room. Also turning the TV on to desired channel is very random. You would expect it to turn on to the last viewed channel when you press the power button, but that is not the case. Sometimes it turns on to the last viewed channel for a few seconds and then jumps to a completely random channel. Changing the channels takes a lot longer than on my other 8 year old Philips TV, and this new one apparently has a dual core processor! Picture controls you are used to have at your fingertips, like brightness, colour or contrast are buried deep within the TV menu, and have to rely on Philips’ Digital Natural Motion presets for those controls, which can’t be turned off! So if you are watching a dark movie scene with a few bright elements, TV automatically adjust the picture so it's even darker which makes the scene unwatchable (and yes I’ve turned off day/night light sensor). Yesterday I couldn’t turn the TV off. Remote was completely fine except for the power button. I could see the red light blinking meaning it is receiving the command , but it would’t turn off. I had to unplug it from the wall to get things back in order. When I bought the TV few months ago, at first I thought I had a faulty unit, and the software upgrade might improve things. That process was a nightmare itself as there’s nothing in the manual to explain how it’s done. Luckily phone support is good so we sorted that out. Things become marginally better but still a far cry from competitors. I regret the purchase and wish to return the unit.
